MenuVaraison Vineyards and Winery is a family operation committed to the production of Old World style wines defined by rich, distinctive flavors.

Varaison Wine Selection

Cuvée Blanc
Cuvée Blanc is vinted from hand-picked premium Chardonnay grapes. Ripe melon, apple, and pear flavors and aromas dominate this un-oaked wine. This wine is produced in stainless steel tanks with both primary and malolactic fermentation that allows the expression of a bright acidity and smooth elegant finish. Perfect pairings occur with fresh summer fruits, chilled salads, and grilled or pan-seared seafood.

Montagne Doux
Varaison Viognier is produced from hand-picked sustainable grapes in late harvest. Aromatic floral aromas dominate this lightly-oaked wine. Honeysuckle, lemon flower, and pear blossom dominate the top notes with rich ripe pear, apricot, and golden apple in the mid-palate, finished with French oak to add creamy vanilla, and an off-sweet finish. Perfect pairings include fresh melon fruits, chilled salads, aromatic Indian, Asian, and Mediterranean cuisine.

Joyeux
The subtle notes of floral citrus, spice and exotic fruits frolic across the palate. Crafted from single varietal Mourvedre, this French-style rosé yields a deeply intricate and intriguing portrayal of a classic red wine grape from the southern Mediterranean. Enjoy every day by itself or with your favorite cheese, meat, fruit, and bread.

Espérer, Sparkling Muscat Blanc 2020
Now Available! Espérer is that sparkling feeling inside which once released is inescapable and fathomless. Anticipate exotic aromas and captivating mouthfeel with each and every sip. Delicate sweetness, citrus, tropical fruit, honeysuckle, and a delicious brioche finish. Irresistible. Irrepressible. Incredible.

Perle Blanche 2017
Our estate produced Chardonnay, crafted from the Dijon grape clone. Candied pineapple and passionfruit dominate the fruit notes with a deep caramel undertone from aging in French Oak. The perfect wine with cheese, fish, and roasted vegetables.

Primitivo 2017
Primitivo is a dark purple grape that provides layered flavors of blackberry, cedar and fig. Extended barrel aging in our private cellar adds rich aromas of anise and vanilla. Often confused with Zinfandel, Primitivo's genetic roots extend into Croatia and Italy. This grape produces a long-aging, tannic red wine that pairs superbly with richly-seasoned foods and smoked meats. 96 cases produced.

Barbera 2014
The Varaison 2014 Barbera is a delightful fruit forward and medium bodied. Notes of ripe red cherry, vanilla, smoke, and almond accentuate this spectacular  wine.  This wine pairs superbly with traditional, high acidity Italian fare, spicy meat dishes, shellfish and cheese.

Nebbiolo 2014
Nebbiolo is the noble grape of Northern Italy. Elegant aromas of tar and roses are hallmarks of this exceptional varietal. Lighter in color than most red wines, and quite tannic when young, flavors of tart cherries, herbs, tobacco and truffles develop as the wine reaches maturity.

Bin 3115
Varaison Bin 3115 is a spectacular single vineyard, single vintage, and 100% Merlot from the Grand Valley AVA. This Estate Reserve is from our Palisade Vineyard, a treasured tract of land that expresses unique terroir. Barrel aged in French and American Oak, and fermented sur lees, this long-finished merlot expresses complex layers of dark chocolate, coffee, anise, currant, cedar, vanilla, tobacco, leather, ripe cherry, plum, and butterscotch. Round and soft tannins add to an exciting mouth feel only expressed by this varietal. Produced in very limited quantity, this wine is dedicated to my father who nurtured this land and the dream it shares.

Crème l'Orange 2020
Crème l'Orange is a field blend of estate-grown Orange Muscat and Chardonnay. Produced in a style similar to our Creme Brûlée Chardonnay, French and American Oak add alluring aromas and unique flavors derived from extended aging. This elegant white blend is soft and creamy on the palate, with vanilla, butterscotch and toasted marshmallow, accented with the aromatic note of orange blossom. This semi-sweet wine is best served slightly chilled as a post-meal digestif.
